| TRANSFERRING DATABASE TO YOUR
DEVICE |
When you're ready to 'deploy' your abcDB
application to your PocketPC, it's never been easier!
Note: The following
screenshots are taken from the Patients sample
application
All you need to do is select the 'Sync...' tab on the left side
of the screen as shown here:

Now all we have to do is select the various tables we want to
transfer.
In this case, we want to choose all the tables, so all we have
to do is click the SELECT ALL button on the right side of the screen. Once you
have chosen all the tables, click the SYNCHRONIZE button and you will see the
following dialog.
If you wish, you can
enter a password. This password will be required whenever you try to open
the database on your device, as well as when you synchronize with the
desktop.

NOTE: In order to synchronize, each of your Microsoft Access tables
must have the REQUIRED property of any PrimaryKey index fields set to YES.
Below is a snapshot of where this property is so you can make any necessary
changes:

VOILA! As long as your PocketPC is connected to your
computer, and as long as ActiveSync is active, you should find that your
database will now be conventiently found in your /My Documents/ folder on your
device.
NOTE: If you wish to export to a storage card, simply prepend the path
with: /Storage Card/
ie. /Storage Card/My Documents/patients.sdf
